The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM&AW) represents nearly a million men and women who work in more than 350 classifications or industries as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor in the commercial, manufacturing, non-manufacturing, private, public, federal, state and local government sectors of our nation's economy. They live in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Panama, Puerto Rico, and the 10 Provinces of Canada. Although the IAM began as a railroad union, today it has one of the most diversified memberships of any labor organization. The IAM represents employees in all major industries such as: aerospace, air transport, ground transport and auto repair, office, computer, clerical, medical and technical positions as well as the following shop floor positions: tool & die makers, machinists, production, assembly, maintenance and security jobs. IAM members are also employed in metal products manufacturing facilities, on the railroads, and in the design, construction, repair, support and maintenance work of an almost endless variety of skills and occupational endeavors.
District Lodge 725 represents over 16,000 active & retired members in California.
